Nutcase HQ, based in Portland, Oregon (USA) sponsored the recent Filmed By Bike event whereby filmmakers of all types entered short films of 8 minutes on the them of cycling.

Thousands of entries from around the world were received and 30 entries were selected for the finals.

The festival is held every April in Portland, Oregon at the Clinton Street Theater. The weekend-long festival kicks off with a rockin street party on opening night. We close off the street, bring in the ruckus and DJs and spend the night reveling in bike culture while amazing bike movies play on the silver screen.

This year, THE GOLDEN HELMET AWARD was presented by Nutcase Helmets to recognise the independent filmmaker who courageously combines an original concept, a unique use of cinematography, and a nutty view of bicycling life and/or bike culture.

This award was created by Filmed by Bike in conjunction with Nutcase to recognize the top film of the festival. The Jury will nominate three films. Of those three films the Festival Director, a Nutcase representative, and a special guest will select the final winner.
